Vogue Magazine published an interesting trend piece in its May issue on what we’ll be seeing in heels for this fall- that you can start wearing this spring! We’ve seen a lot of 1940′s and 1950′s inspired heels of late, especially lower heels with a classic feminine flair. Vogue attributes some of these trends to European TV shows, like BBC’s “Call the Midwife,” that have gotten popular in America (that show hooked more viewers than “Downton Abbey,” can you believe that??)
In a society that glorifies celebrities’ 7-inch heels and killer stilettos, low heels may not seem quite as sexy, right? But low heels have a different kind of appeal: they give a more subtle emphasis to your legs and to your silhouette, especially in the longer skirts and classic shapes we’ve seen so much more of this last year. Some design details to look for on these shoe styles include: ankle straps (big for this summer’s wedges, ladies), capped toes, and stacked heels.
